Innovative Consulting Engineers & Engineering Geologists - Construction, Design & Management Regulations

The majority of construction projects will
require the appointment of a Planning
Supervisor in accordance with the
Construction (Design and Management)
Regulations 1994 (CDM Regs). The CDM
Regs also apply to all demolition projects
except those undertaken for domestic
clients.

The CDM Regulations are complex. For
further guidance please contact us and
we will be happy to advise you on your
duties.

HOW WE SEE THE KEY DUTIES OF THE PLANNING SUPERVISOR...

CDM compliance is about managing, providing and updating important pieces of safety related information to and from the appointed CDM duty holders and others.

Our in house design teams are experienced in designing out risk and designing in safety features, and can assist with reviewing plans and drawings to ensure designers comply with their duties. Where necessary, procedures are written to manage any residual risk that cannot be designed out.

We encourage regular meetings and reviews between all parties to ensure :
  - a common approach to risk reduction
  - an awareness by all of the common issues,
  - identification of incompatibilities between designs at early stages

We provide contractors with a concise Pre-tender Health and Safety Plan highlighting the safety issues of the project.

We use a combination of documented questionnaires and industry experience to assess the competence of both designers and contractors.

The HSE is notified using Form 10 (rev).

We work with contractors and designers to ensure that critical information is collected throughout a project enabling timely submission to the Client of the Health and Safety File.
