JGP has carried out numerous coastal protection projects for both public and private clients. We have also undertaken many DEFRA grant aided coastal protection works, including studies of vulnerable lengths of coast to identify potential schemes. The full service we provide includes feasibility and cost benefit analysis, environmental impact assessments, full scheme design, tenders, supervision, project management and CDM coordinator duties. Assessment of hard and soft geology and geomorphology is carried out by our experienced geotechnical department.

Coastal Protection Works

Our engineering designs use the most appropriate materials for coastal protection and cliff stabilisation schemes, enabling us to provide optimum solutions to any situation.  We have successfully used targeted reinforced sprayed concrete structures across gulleys and vulnerable geological features providing an economical method of inhibiting cliff regression. Reinforced sprayed concrete structures can be particularly well suited to the stabilisation of irregular coastal slopes and cliffs in inaccessible areas. Other cliff stabilisation methods that we have effectively used include rock armour, soil nails, rock bolting and netting, gabions, geo-grids, hydro-seeding, reno-mattresses, reinforced concrete sea walls and breakwaters.
