Derriford Hospital Interchange, Plymouth
JGP are pleased to be involved in the road improvements at the front entrance of Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Working for AMEY Plc, JGP has provided geotechnical supervision relating to new slope cuttings to enable road widening at this major A&E hospital. JGP assessed the stability of the rock mass, which allowed the retaining structure design to be refined resulting in a more cost effective engineering solution.
The widened road has greatly improved the bus access to the hospital and connects to the Marjon Link Road, which was completed in 2015. JGP provided ground investigation services to facilitate the widening of the Link Road, which now provides an important two-way link for buses between the University of St Mark & St John (Marjon) and Derriford Hospital.
